SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This Category role is responsible for providing in-depth analysis of Diaper, Training Pant, Youth Pant and Baby Wipes category opportunities for LCL/SDM with the intent to grow the BCC category and K-C brands.
KEY CUSTOMERS AND CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS:
This position will work closely with the LCL/SDM Customer Development team and the customer to provide Category leadership. These customers expect clear, succinct, compelling and timely communication of Category Development principles and consumer needs to support customer and Kimberly-Clark objectives.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
This position reports to the Director - Category & Shopper Insights and interacts internally with LCL/SDM customer team, the business units and Category Management team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The ability to analyze a category using data tools such as Nielsen Discover is critical for this role, as is JDA and planogram expertise. The successful candidate will provide category management expertise to LCL/SDM in the areas of product mix, shelf merchandising, promotion, pricing, and profitability to enable Kimberly-Clark to become the supplier of choice for Loblaw.
- Initiate projects as part of the Category Development team. Develop category overviews and action plans, as directed by sales managers and the team leader, utilizing category management software that will deliver customer category objectives and improve sales results for K-C.
- Assist in developing category knowledge and expertise in the Sales team to enable Kimberly-Clark to take full advantage of all sales opportunities.
- Participate in customer presentations, and interface with category decision-makers within assigned customer organizations on category developments and opportunities.
- Communicate with Marketing brand management personnel on key category initiatives and developments to ensure category management principles are included when developing products, marketing plans and programs.
- May provide technical support with POS data processing and Nielsen data reports, and translating purchased data into K-C meaningful data to support analysis.
- Contribute, when required, in situations, projects, and activities not included in other principal accountabilities to assist in the accomplishment of business objectives and personnel development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education required/ preferred:
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 4 – 5 years previous experience in account management / category management, preferably with a Consumer Packaged Goods company.
- Skills/Competencies:
- Nielsen Discover and CT/ST
- Microsoft Office Suite with strength in Excel and PowerPoint
- Space Management Planogram (Modular) Software
- Ability to develop and interpret market, business and financial analysis
- Demonstrated command of leadership behaviours and the ability to apply those toward effective interaction with team members and internal customers.
